YESpay announces multi-channel
accreditation with Global Payments,
Canada.
March 29, 2012, Toronto, Canada: Global Payments,
one of the world's leading acquiring and payment
processing companies has generically accredited YESpay International's EMBOSS payment service to
manage the EMV migration of Global Payment's merchants across Canada. The formal certification
included End-to-End EMV Chip and PIN testing with Interac, MasterCard and Visa using the Verifone
Vx810 PIN pad, as well as e-commerce and MOTO certification for card not present transactions.
Both parties are now able to offer a multi-channel integrated payment solution that provides merchants
with a one-stop EMV accredited and PCI-DSS certified payment processing service for face-to-face credit
and Interac debit sales, MOTO payments and e-commerce purchases.
Rohit Patni, EVP Sales and Marketing at YESpay explains that "Our certification with Global Payments
further extends our capability to deliver a fully outsourced and managed EMV payment service to
Global Payment merchants who continue to seek a low-cost and fully EMV and PCI DSS approved
solution. YESpay is fully committed to the Canadian marketplace by helping merchants to securely
implement their multi-channel payment strategies without the need for formal certification and
reduced PCI-DSS compliance costs, all at low monthly subscription fees."
EMBOSS reduces business and technical issues caused by in-house payment services and helps
merchants avoid lengthy timescales and high costs of EMV certification and PCI-DSS compliance of their
retail environments. Merchants can upgrade their retail POS systems to support EMV Chip & Pin and
Interac transactions as well as enhance their websites with integrated on-line payment capability with
an average integration time of 2-4 weeks. MOTO transactions can be supported immediately with no
integration required.
Harry Morge, National Sales Manager at YESpay, comments further "Fully scalable, EMBOSS meets the needs of the single location merchant as well as larger chains and provides an innovative and low cost
solution that helps merchants integrate card payments with their existing retail infrastructures while
providing a simplified migration path to EMV compliance for credit and debit in Canada and in US in
the near future." |

VISA's USA EMV roadmap supports YESpay's
payment vision in North America
On January 13, 2012, Visa formally announced its roadmap for
the U.S. adoption of EMV chip cards and NFC-enabled mobile payment devices. Visa has set aim on
April 2013 and October 2015 as EMV-adoption target dates. The card brand has created guidelines to
help card issuers and merchants successfully launch and complete their EMV implementations?
This announcement strongly confirms YESpay's North American strategy and roadmap. Delivering
a unique pre-certified EMV and PCI-DSS payment solution to cross-border businesses, YESpay has
already numerous Canadian EMV chip & PIN enabled merchants who are, with a single integration, EMV
ready for the US. Sharing his excitement around this important announcement and highlighting
the benefits of a cross-border EMV solution, Chandra Patni, CEO and founder of YESpay quoted "Many
tier 1 and 2 merchants are present both in USA and across the border in Canada. As they migrate to
EMV in Canada via the YESpay outsourced managed EMV chip and PIN payment service, this approach
can enable them to extend the migration to their US stores. We anticipate multi-national merchants
will fuel the EMV chip and PIN adoption throughout North America in order to benefit from reduced
fraud and chargebacks. Our experience in Europe is that migration via an outsourced payment service
business model is fast and inexpensive, requiring the least investment by merchants in new
technology and new processes."
One of the main reasons for Visa's EMV push is the increased number of incidents of card fraud.
The United States' continued reliance on magnetic-stripe cards is perpetuating the expansion and
growth of global card fraud and focusing the fraudsters' attention on the USA.
EMV (Europay Mastercard Visa) is therefore the right solution as these sets of standards add a layer of
safety to transactions, through the use of dynamic authentication, as well as enhances international
card acceptance. Besides, it helps to build an acceptance infrastructure to support mobile payments.
For merchants, the incentive is also linked to PCI-DSS compliance. Indeed, Visa announced that by
October 2012, merchants who would have installed dual-interface technology supporting both EMV and
contactless-chip transactions, would see their PCI-DSS certification significantly reduced.
Visa's 2013 deadline applies to acquirers and processors. By then, Visa requires systems to be upgraded
to support EMV and contactless-chip payments. Following this roadmap, Visa is preparing the migration
process and adoption of mobile and NFC payments. On this topic, YESpay's sister company
YES-wallet.com has already reached important milestones by providing an e-wallet technology called
Pouch and a roadmap to NFC payments, set to revolutionize the way people make payments.
The 2015 date refers to the shift in fraud liability from the Card Issuer to the merchant. Merchants that
would have not upgraded their POS systems with EMV Chip technology by October 2015 will be liable
for losses linked to card fraud, in case the EMV technology could have prevented the fraud. YESpay
already has numerous merchants in the US using its pre-certified EMV solution with Chase Paymentech
and First Data Merchant services. YESpay is a certified payment solution for North American merchants
willing to beat the EMV liability shift set by the card schemes and be ready to accept EMV cards not only
in Canada but also in the US.
