YESpay Appoints Simon Curtis as the SVP Strategic European Sales
|
|
|
|

Simon Curtis has recently joined YESpay's headquarters in the UK, as
the new SVP European Strategic Sales & Business Development. Simon Curtis brings
more than 20 years of experience in retail covering business consulting and IT systems
delivery. He also successfully ran a retail IT Software Company for 10 years, delivering
enterprise and point solutions to UK and overseas clients.
Simon's arrival in the European team is part of YESpay expansion strategy in the
UK and mainland Europe. "YESpay is uniquely placed to offer merchants a fully integrated
multi-channel payments platform, full multi-channel service by leveraging our partnerships
with software POS developers. I see tremendous growth opportunities for us in mainland
Europe and fully expect to bring on board a number of large cross-border partners
and merchants for such a compelling product" declares Simon.
He is already the source of excitement in the company as he explains his role and
why he joined YESpay. "My goal, as the SVP of European Strategic Sales and Business
Development, is simple: it is to get YESpay recognised and established in Europe
as one of the leading payments service providers and as a full multi-channel service".
YESpay is today present in 35 countries in Europe through its certification with
Elavon. Simon Curtis admitted that "the majority of our business is in the UK, but
I can imagine that in 3 to 5 years the proportion of European cross-border sales
compared to UK sales will grow to 60% of our revenue".
"What attracted me to YESpay is their big sense of innovation: they are the first
to develop their managed service on 'active active cloud computing architecture'
and are now leading innovators in multi-channel payment solutions." He also explained
that his time will be focused on developing the strategic partner and merchant community
as "our partners are key and we need to forge closer relationships, understand their
clients' needs and help them navigate through complex regulation and security issues
surrounding the payments industry."
"YESpay is expanding to the next level in the market and this is the right time
to launch our strategies for growth. We are delighted to have Simon join the senior
management team, his knowledge and experience in retailing and consulting will be
a valuable asset to YESpay and our partners" affirms Rohit Patni, co-founder and
EVP Sales & Marketing of YESpay.

YESpay and Itim software bring Pennies, the electronic charity box to the high street
with retailer -The Entertainer
|
|
|
The software developed by YESpay and Itim has been instrumental in the launch of
Pennies, the electronic charity box, onto the high street for the first time. Through
57-store children's toy shop chain,
The Entertainer, consumers now have the choice to round up their card purchases
to the nearest pound and make a micro-donation to charity as they pay. All the money
raised goes to charity.
YESpay has incorporated the 'Pennies solution' into its payments software which
is supplied to partners and merchants. Itim has integrated the YESpay application
with the Itim Point of Sale and back office software. This additional functionality
has enabled The Entertainer to implement Pennies simply and quickly in its stores.
It will also make Pennies implementation simple for other YESpay and Itim merchants,
allowing them to easily and cost-effectively participate in a growing micro-donation
movement which is proving popular with UK consumers and starting to make a difference
for charities too.
The majority of the money raised by The Entertainer will be shared equally between
four children's hospitals, Alder Hey Imagine Appeal, Birmingham Children's Hospital,
Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal which fundraises for Bristol Children's Hospital
and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. The remainder will be divided
between ten other UK charities covering a range of causes including the elderly,
cancer support and arts & education.
The Entertainer is the largest independent retailer of toys in the UK, with 30 years'
experience. The Entertainer is involved with many charities big and small and stores
are encouraged to get involved with their local community.
Commenting on the partnership with Pennies, Chandra Patni, CEO of YESpay International,
commented: "It is a pleasure to bring Pennies, the electronic charity box, to The
Entertainer's 57-store high street chain. We are very excited to be part of the
micro-donation movement as a key technology partner of Pennies and look forward
to helping them expand the electronic charity box to more YESpay partners and merchants."
Neil Crawshaw, Commercial Manager of Itim, said: "Following the
initial success with The Entertainer, we will be strongly urging all our store customers
to follow suit and implement this simple way of raising donations for both worthwhile
causes and local communities."
Gary Grant, Managing Director of The Entertainer, said: "Pennies
fits well with our culture of giving and supporting those less advantaged than ourselves.
Our trial in four stores raised over £150 in its launch week, annualised this could
raise around £100,000! That's just outstanding and we are grateful and amazed by
the acceptance and generosity of our customers."
Alison Hutchinson, CEO of The Pennies Foundation added: "We're
excited at the pace of Pennies development. It is fantastic to launch our first
in-store high street experience within the fun and friendly environment of The Entertainer's
toy shops. Last year £26 billion* more was spent using debit cards than using notes
and coins. The death of cash is not around the corner, but card use is now massive
and rising. Pennies makes it possible to give a little to charity by card in the
same way that we've traditionally dropped coins into a collecting tin."

YESpay wins the ACT Canada GOLD International Innovation Award 2011!
YESpay International received on June 15th the prestigious
ACT Canada Gold International Innovation Award 2011 in the category Payment for
its unique integrated and fully managed EMV Chip & PIN card payment service called
EMBOSS. The award was issued at the recent Cardware Conference in Niagara, Canada.
Through this highly renowned award, the payment industry also recognizes that YESpay
is actively helping North American merchants and Point-Of-Sale (POS) vendors to
reduce the burden of costly and lengthy PCI-DSS certification and EMV Chip & PIN
accreditation of their multi-channel retail, e-commerce and MOTO payment systems.
Indeed YESpay is the first company that has introduced a fully managed and outsourced
Chip & PIN EMV integrated

payment service in North America, generically pre-certified with various
card acquirers like Chase Paymentech and First Data Merchant Services.
With a solution like YESpay, offered as a SaaS (Software as a service) model, the
success comes from YESpay's ability to mitigate the merchants need to certify their
retail systems to EMV standards enabling them to fast track the deployment of fully
approved point-of-sale systems and e-commerce websites in a matter of weeks at low
monthly subscription fees. In addition, EMBOSS significantly reduces the burden
related to PCI-DSS compliance, as YESpay removes any sensitive card details from
the merchant's environment.
Interestingly YESpay is also going beyond the multi-channel Card-present and Card-not-present
environment by offering a number of powerful value added services such as a Gift
Card program, the YESpay-StoreManager, a YESpay-Wallet and numerous other features.

Let's share the joy of Pay the New Way 2011! YESpay's 1st Annual North American
Partner event
On June 13th 2011, YESpay hosted in collaboration with ACT Canada its
first Annual Partner Event, 'Pay the New Way 2011' at Marriott
Gateway on the Falls, Canada.
During this event, YESpay brought together some of Canada's leading payment experts
including ACT Canada, First Data Merchant Services, Chase Paymentech and Global
Payments under one roof to share their perspective regarding EMV and YESpay's integrated
payment solution and to give their vision on what is next! It was also a great opportunity
to have fruitful conversations and gather interesting insights from POS vendors
like Cardwatch sharing their experience on the "criteria for selecting a Partner
for EMV ready solutions". Besides, attendees discovered YESpay's new global brand
and communication identity that is set to embrace how customers will 'pay the new
way'!
On behalf of the YESpay team, we would like to thank all presenters and attendees
for participating at this event! Thanks to your collaboration, we made this event
a real success!
If you could not attend this year, do not worry as YESpay will organize a 2nd Partner
Event next year and it would be the perfect occasion to gather around new interesting
topics, such as recent developments, new deployments & value-added services and
how we can do more leveraging these valuable partnerships.
What did partners think of this 1st YESpay event?
"The YESpay partner event was very valuable in helping to better understand the
YESpay solutions and for networking with the represented acquirers."
Bill L. Clements, Manager, Client Relations, Pulse Retail
"The YESpay Partner Event turned out to be a highly enlightening and informative
event that also provided some unique industry networking opportunities. It's great
to work with a company that invests in its partners!"
Kevin McIntosh, VP Business Development, Cardwatch
"The YESpay partner event was yet another example of the company's commitment to
the Canadian market. We were very pleased with the content and YESpay's obvious
commitment to their business partners."
Scott Smith, General Manager, Canadian Retail Solutions
"It was great to learn about YESpay's vision and the direction of their payment
solutions for different business requirements. I am impressed that YESpay is so
aggressive and has such wide coverage in payment solutions."
Jack Chen, Sales Manager, TechRider Information Solutions

Pacific Amber and YESpay's partnership takes another dimension as large numbers
of merchants go live in North America!
|
A growing number of merchants in Canada and USA are now Live and EMV
Chip & PIN enabled thanks to the trio: Pacific Amber Technologies, YESpay International
and Chase Paymentech! Adoption is now exploding because of this successful partnership
and the increasing need to adopt Chip and PIN in Canada as a result of the EMV liability
shift.
Validated for EasyV-Retail, YESpay's EMV card-present payment solution, Pacific
Amber Technologies is offering a unique proposition for EMV Chip and PIN and magnetic
stripe credit and debit card acceptance in Canada and US. Live merchants like House
of Knives and John Fluevog have been EMV enabled this year and are currently using
this joint solution.
Pacific Amber is also integrating EasyV-Internet to expand its payment service proposition.
Both EasyV-Internet and EasyV-Retail support credit/debit card tokenization for
free. These unique 'Tokens' (card reference numbers) are linked to individual cardholder
details stored in PCI-DSS certified EMBOSS data centres, enable merchants to take
recurring payments without access to full cardholder details.
Mike Piotrowski, President of Pacific Amber Technologies comments
"The uniqueness of YESpay's payment solution which is fully managed, multi-channel,
cross-border and EMV certified, was the answer to our payment needs. [...] AmberPOS
has been a successful software for years and we are always looking for new ways
to provide our customers with more features, including new payment processing options."

Following increased activity, YESpay moved to larger premises in downtown Toronto,
Canada.
YESpay recently moved from its previous location on Richmond Street West
to a bigger office in the heart of Toronto, on Spadina Avenue. The expansion and
change of location reflect YESpay's strong commitment to the North American market
where the activity increased significantly in the past months. Indeed, with this
new office and a new innovative corporate branding, YESpay is determined to assist
its North American customers to "pay the new way", as indicated in the company's
new tag line.
|
|
Headquartered in London (UK), YESpay has established its presence in UK and Europe
since 2002, providing European retailers with its EMV Chip and PIN and multi-channel
credit and debit card payment solutions. YESpay has drawn upon its UK experience
to become the FIRST hosted EMV Chip & PIN payment service provider in Canada in
2010, less than one year after the opening of its Toronto office.
Since 2009, YESpay has an office in Toronto and now with a bigger premise and its
payment solutions well recognized and launched in North America, YESpay is planning
to develop its multi-channel (Card-Present and Card-not-present solutions) offering
and to build on value-added services like the YESpay StoreManager and the Gift-Card
Solution. Those developments are in tune with the market trend - although of course
a number of merchants and POS vendors still need to upgrade towards EMV – as the
payments industry is slowly focusing on other channels and value-added services.
This is exactly the multi-channel vision YESpay has and the expansion will ensure
YESpay`s offering will be given even more credibility and confidence as a sound
and efficient payment service.

YESpay is growing!
In addition to Simon Curtis, YESpay welcomes 2 new members to its ever
growing team of committed payments professionals.
